Koby Leisinger, Teaching Assistant at Dakota Prairie Elementary
As a committed morning supervisor, teaching assistant, and leader of the G.A.P. Program at Dakota Prairie, Koby plays a crucial role in providing our learners with a safe, structured, and engaging start to their day.
If you've ever hosted a child's birthday party, you know the energy, organization, and patience required to guide a group of young children. Now, imagine managing 150-300+ energetic (and sometimes tired) learners every morning, leading them through games while creating a fun yet structured environment. That's exactly what Koby does every day, and he does it with a remarkable sense of calm and composure.
On outdoor days, Koby ensures that our learners staying outside between 7:30-8:00 AM remain active, safe, and engaged. On indoor days, when the gym is full of eager learners, he takes the lead by organizing structured games and activities that keep everyone engaged and moving. His ability to communicate and guide learners from JK to 3rd grade in a way that is both organized and inclusive is impressive.
In addition to his morning duties, Koby also serves as a teaching assistant, showcasing his dedication to supporting our learners both academically and socially. He is currently enrolled in the Teacher Apprenticeship Program, working toward his teaching certification. The roles Koby fills are not easy-and not positions many would eagerly take on - but every morning, he arrives with the same calm, positive energy, ensuring our learners begin their day in the best way possible. His commitment and positive impact at Dakota Prairie make him truly deserving of this recognition.
