High Five Friday With the SDSU Football Team!

One of our favorite days is back - Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character Day - on Thursday, October 31!

High Five Mornings! SDSU football players came to welcome our learners to school!

Hispanic Heritage month runs from Sept. 15-Oct. 15. Students at Dakota Prairie have been learning more about famous Hispanic musicians such as Shakira, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. During lunch, our playlist features music composed or performed by some of these famous musicians. In third grade music, we are reading biographies on these musicians, working on traditional circle dances, and digging deeper into cultural connections. The hallway display (pictured) gives students a chance to learn more about some Hispanic musicians as they are walking to and from music class.

AJ and Ellie Marker had a special ride to school today thanks to their participation in the summer reading program through to the Brookings Public Library.
