BHS visual art students competed and had artwork on display at the 2025 SDHSAA State Visual Arts Competition held at the Aberdeen Recreation and Cultural Center (ARCC), Aberdeen, SD, April 11-12, 2025.
BHS received 3rd place as a team, with several students placing in their respective categories. Julianna Converse (Senior) was awarded Class AA Best in Show for her 1st place winning piece in the Printmaking category.

Ayden Hyde (Junior) - 5th Functional Ceramics
Other participants include: Katie Bortnem (Senior) - 3D Sculpture, Delaney Caulfield (Senior) - Crafts, Sterling Palmer (Senior) - Photography, Yar Akon (Senior) - Watercolor Painting, Kacee Rhody (Senior) - Acrylic Painting
John Hatton and Sterling Palmer also competed in State Art Wars on the same day and Sterling Palmer was awarded 3rd in the Photography category.
