BEA celebrates American Education Week November 18-22, 2024

MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20: Education Support Professionals Day

American Education Week continues! Today we send out a special thank you to all of our Education Support Professionals. Make sure you thank a bus driver, a secretary, and a custodian. When you go to lunch today, remember to thank all the individuals in the kitchen as you go through the line.  Also don’t forget about our librarian, behavior techs, teacher assistants, nurse, guidance counselors, and technology support team; they ALL do amazing work to support our school community. To stand together and stand strong for public education in America, let’s all “Wear Red for Ed” this Friday.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 21: Encore Teacher Appreciation

American Education Week continues, and today let's recognize the work of our encore teachers. Classes like art, band, choir, Family & Consumer Science, foreign language, health, orchestra, Project Lead the Way, technology, and wellness add variety to the school day and challenge students to use their brains and bodies in different ways. Take time today to say THANK YOU to your encore teachers for all they do. Don’t forget to “Wear Red for Ed” tomorrow to show that we stand strong for public education in America.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22: Substitute Teacher Appreciation

American Education Week wraps up today, and we want to thank a special group of educators! All week long we have had substitutes filling in for our staff.  We are so thankful for their willingness to step in and support our students and staff here at Mickelson Middle School.  Substitute teachers perform an important job in the lives of our students and staff. I see lots of “Red for Ed” out there today, so thank you all for your strong support of public education in Brookings and across America.
